“The Heart Aroused” explains very simply how each of us owe it to ourselves to bring courage and passion into our work and lives. If we cannot embrace our job with passion, then we are in the wrong job. The author discusses in detail about the tough corporate environments of today and the troubling compromises that each of us make as we struggle to balance many pressures and demands. When these compromises become too severe we begin to slip into a mode of life, where we lose our edge and our passion for quality and good service. Thus, the book beautifully explains the link between a person's creativity and their work. It says that the two must be in equilibrium, so that we can have a balanced life.

Why did Susan Scott suggest this Book? "This book inspired my writing of Fierce Conversations. The simplest definition of a fierce conversation is one in which we come out from behind ourselves, into the conversation, and make it real. David’s evocative writing inspires us to do exactly that, finding the right place for ourselves in the workplace and bringing our hearts (ourselves!) along with us."
